The Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation
Based out of Northeast Ohio, the Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation is dedicated to improving people’s lives through education, healthcare, and the arts. The Fowler Family Foundation recently approved a substantial grant for the 2017 Brightmoor Arts Camp, ensuring Seven Mile Music has the means to provide six weeks of free music education to over 80 students in Brightmoor. Seven Mile Music graciously thanks the Foundation for its incredible generosity.
The University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, and Dance
The School of Music, Theater, and Dance at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (SMTD) is providing strong support for the 2017 Brightmoor Arts Camp. As part of their support, the SMTD will work with camp staff to refine the curriculum and ensure that Seven Mile Music’s students receive the best possible music education moving into the future.
Music Go Round Ann Arbor Branch
Music Go Round is a used instrument store, and its Ann Arbor branch is located at 2791 Oak Valley Drive. Currently, Music Go Round is sponsoring an instrument drive for our program. If you have an instrument that you no longer use and would like to donate it to our cause, bring it to Music Go Round Ann Arbor, and tell them that you would like to donate the instrument to Seven Mile Music.

The DTE Energy Co. is a diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. DTE Energy’s charitable contributions helped Seven Mile Music organize the 2015 Brightmoor Arts Camp, and the success of the 2015 camp continues to serve as a foundation for Seven Mile Music’s growth.
Detroit SOUP is a microgranting dinner which celebrates creative projects in Detroit. For a $5 donation, attendees receive soup, salad, bread, and a vote for one of four presenting groups. The group with the most votes is awarded all the raised funds. There is a citywide SOUP, as well as smaller SOUPs for neighborhoods of Detroit including Brightmoor. Seven Mile Music was the winner of the April 17 citywide Detroit SOUP event, as well as the April 6 Brightmoor SOUP event.
Ann Arbor Area Piano Teachers Guild Foundation
The AAAPTGF, established in 1993, is committed to promoting music education for young people in the community and enhancing cultural awareness. Seven Mile Music was generously awarded a General Support Grant by the Foundation, as well as numerous art and office supplies.
Risky Business is the University of Michigan Ross Business School Student Rock Band. They held a concert, “Motown (Go) Blues!”, at Rick’s American Cafe in Ann Arbor, and graciously donated the proceeds to Seven Mile Music.
University of Michigan Central Student Government
The University of Michigan Central Student Government currently provides funding for Seven Mile Music’s transportation during the school year.
